DEPARTMENTAL HISTORY

  • The Department of Chemistry was established in the year 1988.

  •  The department offered only B.Sc MPC and CBZ Programmes in the year 1988.

  • Gradually it expanded its courses based on time and industrial demands resulted in

     the introduction of B.Sc. BBC, B.Sc. MBC.

  • Increase in the demand of chemistry with computer science lead to new programme B.Sc. MCCs in the year 2017.

  • A Study Increase in the Aqua Labs and Fish culture in and around ELURU, a new

     programme  chemistry with fisheries i.e.  ZFC was introduced in the year 2018.

  • The department of chemistry occupies a substantial share in B.Sc programmes in the

     institution in terms of the strength of both students and faculty.

  • The department is functioning with seven qualified, knowledgeable and experienced 

    faculty members. Out of which,one faculty member has M.Phil and one Faculty member has B.Ed.

  • The faculty members of chemistry department have completed various courses in online mode offered by NPTEL in SWAYAM.

  • Four members of chemistry department are having membership in ISERS.

  • The faculty members published articles in International and National journals.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE CHEMISTRY DEPARTMENT

  • The department has achieved the good results i.e. 85-100% in core subjects and 100% in EE(life skill)Courses.

  • The department has three spacious laboratories fully equipped with chemicals ,glass ware, general items and instruments required for conducting practical experiments in all courses.

  • The department also offers various courses like 

  • i) Add on course on Cleansing agents

  • ii) Value added course on Home Need Preparations

  • iii) Add on course on Polymer Chemistry.

  • The department has organized various community service projects and short term and long term internships in association with various labs and industries.

  • The department has organized field trips to Nexgen Aqua Labs, Bommuluru and 

    Sri Sarvaraya Sugars,Gopalapuram.

  • All faculty members use ICT Based teaching learning procedures in their teaching pattern

  • The faculty members prepare video classes and uploade in our college youtube channel 

    for the benefit of students.

  • The department has MOUs with various institutions for the benefit of the students.
